Question
My friend is on county probation which started in August of 2009 and will end next month. In October he and one of our other friends were leaving church and our friend became very ill and later died. Well my friend was on county probation cause he did not have a valid drivers license, so after he became very nervous he jumped in the truck and was trying to get our other friend to the hospital. He got to a light and they ran the tag and noticed that our other friend (who became ill) license was suspended also, so they stopped the truck and gave my friend (who is on probation) a ticket. He did not go to jail but do have to pay some court cost. My question is if he is on county probation is there a possibility that his PO would violate him? If so what can I expect because he is also my roommate?

Jamie,

It is possible that the probation officer could find your friend in violation of the conditions of his probation.  If that happens he could have additional time added to his probation, pay a fine, and/or in rare instances be incarcerated to finish out his sentence.  He could also face no probation consequences.  He should pay the fine and move on by explaining the situation to his PO.  It is better to be honest and inform the PO then for the PO to find out later.
