Question
We bought our house over six years ago and chose this house for the acreage and the fact it's out of the city. The school bus driver started picking up these kids that live down a gravel road from us (We live on a paved county road)at the corner of our property about four months ago. They've alway's picked kids up at their house there. It's a rental property so they come and go fairly often. There's no lights or sidewalks on the gravel road or our road. These kids are alway's on our property AND their three dogs and have pulled nearly all the foliage off our 8 evergreen shrubs and broke alot of the branches off. We planted them there when we moved here for privacy. Everyone that moves in there has ALOT of dogs and that's okay as long as they don't come down here on a regular basis which is what we're going through since they've decided to make our corner THE BUS STOP. I don't see how this is considered safer for the kids as my husband called the school bus transportation dept. and spoke to the supervisor. He told my husband it's safer and when my husband challenged him with that he said well the bus he drives is longer than the one he was driving and it makes it easier for him to back up. My husband drove by and said all the buses are the same length. This probably isn't making alot of since, because I'm leaving alot out or I would be writing FOREVER! The county road he backs out onto is very busy and the cars drive so fast that I'm alway's worried when I'm backing out. The cars come flying over the hill and are on your rear. The road he's backing out from is closer to the hill than my driveway is! Who do we need to contact about this issue we are county not city. My husband has called him twice and he told my husband we will take care of it both times and has done nothing! Thanks and sorry this was so long!! Oh, I did here the bus driver honk and hollar to the kid, "Hey, get off that mans property." If that's how they are handling it it won't work. We've ask them nicely and not so nicely several times. And if the bus driver is telling them not to get on our property that leaves the road with no sidewalks OR lighting!!! HEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Contact the school district superintendent and the transportation supervisor in writing stating your concerns. The school district assigns students to the various school bus pick up locations.
They should be able to address your concerns and provide explanations as to how and why they decide what they did and will do.
