Dear Mr. Paisola, I have a friend who is above the age of 18 who needs some advice. He and another person are planning on robbing a store. possibly a 7-11 type store. Guns could be involved. We all live in Maryland. If they are caught, what is the maximum and minimum punishment they can receive. Question Two of my friends are now in jail for armed robbery i was with them when it happened but there was no weapon they were really just bullying this crack head ( he was seriously a crack head he was smokin crack around us) so my friends freaked out and i think it scared the dude he started pullin of his clothes and stuff and sayin dont hurt me you can have my sruff neither of them i dont think were interested in the guys clothes but they didnt redress him they left the clothes in the car and put the dude out of it then the guy ran down the street tellin the cops we robbed them. the cops got behind us and my friend was drunk so he ran( stupid i know) so he evaided the police and then ran through the woods my other friend stayed in the car with me and then we got taken to the police station to be questioned. not they are both in jail and i guess my real question is since they have no proof of weapon and no real evidnece against them what do you think their sentence will be? from what youve seen in the past? and would it be better for them to take a plea bargain instead of goin to trial just your opinion please help me.
