Dear Mr. Paisola, I have a friend who is above the age of 18 who needs some advice. He and another person are planning on robbing a store. possibly a 7-11 type store. Guns could be involved. Criminal Law - My Boyfriends Past Felony- Robert Paisola Responds

Question ok Robert here is my question and tell me like it is cause I just want help and honesty. My boyfriend who is now 23 got a felony when he was 18 when he lived in Portland Oregon for breaking into cars. He now lives in Sacramento California. He has a job now because he works for his dads friend. He's a really hard worker works 50 hours a week and dosen't mind it. I would like for him to get a better job but he won't even try because he said he did a couple years ago but couldn't get a job because of the felony on his record. How do we get the felony off his record? Ok now here is something else to make it even better about 8 months ago he got a DUI!! I heard that if you have a felony and get in trouble w/ the law again that you can never get the felony off is this true? I sware he is a good guy and believe me I was not happy about the DUI and since then we haven't gone out drinking at all. thank you for your help.

First of all, I want to thank you for deciding to write to me about such a personal matter. I am sure that by reading my answers to the thousands of questions that I have received, that I truly care.
So, lets look at your situation.
You have a boyfriend who had a problem with the law when he was a kid, over five years ago. He is working some shit job because he does not believe that he can overcome his past and that he is permanently branded as an offender.
