Dear Mr. Paisola, I have a friend who is above the age of 18 who needs some advice. He and another person are planning on robbing a store. possibly a 7-11 type store. Guns could be involved. We all live in Maryland. If they are caught, what is the maximum and minimum punishment they can receive. Question Hi Robert, I'm 13 and earlier today Monday, October 8, 2007 (I'm homeschooled so the hours are roughly correct) my dads girlfriend woke me up looking for the power supply to our Internet Router. I had moved it because she usually gets on after I go to bed to get on Myspace and it bugs me allot because she has turned off our fireball and gotten viruses, back to the point, my dad told us that we ALL go to bed at 11. I really want her to move out but my dad keeps giving her more and more last chances. She woke me up 30 minutes before my alarm was set to wake me up (7:15) and I told her where the power supply was I laid back down to get some more rest. She came back into my room and turned on the light (it was dark and quite a nuisance) so that kind lit my fire. When I went out to get some cereal and get my day started I noticed my $80 racing wheel's (a Christmas present) power supply was laying on the ground getting me a little closer to the edge. Anyway one thing lead to another and she threw our water pitcher on the ground and i went up in her face after she threw it on the ground she spit in my face and went to her room. Being a little taller and having 30 pounds on her i went in there and started ranting about the pitcher and upon leaving she hit me in the back ,hard and in rage, with a shoe. Would it be possible to get a restraining order and how would that interfere with her living here?

The first thing that I want to do is to thank you for realizing that there are people out in the world that can and will assist you in dealing with your problems and issues as yu are growing up. Congratulations for taking the time to write to me about the issue of your dads girlfriends abuse toward you.
Now, it is very important that you realize that I am not an attorney.
(I can not believe this queston is from a 13 year old)
Now, you state that she threw water on you and that she hit you in the head (hard in a rage) with a shoe.
Now, in a normal answer, I would advise my clients to document the bodily injury (digital photos) and to go to the police and seek a restraining order. HOWEVER, being that you are one hell of a smart kid, you are still a child. So the police are going to take the word of your father and his girlfriend over yours.
This will be a domestic dispute and nothing will happen.
NOW, if I were you, and I had the ability to articulate my thoughts like you do, I would call child protective services and get them to investigate the abuse.
YOU can make this call. I am pretty sure that when they show up, the girlfriend will be gone.
