Dear Mr. Paisola, I have a friend who is above the age of 18 who needs some advice. He and another person are planning on robbing a store. possibly a 7-11 type store. Guns could be involved. We all live in Maryland. If they are caught, what is the maximum and minimum punishment they can receive. My neighbor is constantly calling me a slut using the "F" word swearing and so on. She does this while standing in her front yard yelling across the yard If I am talking to one of my other neighbors she makes a point of stopping her car or yelling out across the street these profanity or saying some remark about me to them this has been going on for two months now the police have been out several times and are going to file charges with the state attorneys for breach of peace. I have been told there is not anything that I can do about this situation I was going to file for a restraining order but was told because she is my neighbor that it wouldn't be granted, We used to be friends this all started because she is getting divorced and my husband and I told her we did not want to go to court and be in the middle.
Do you have any suggestions about anything I may be able to do to stop this from happening I feel like a prisoner in my own home.

Thank you for taking the time to write to me about your neighbor.
It looks to me as if there is a lot going on between you two. I see this a lot in my seminars and the real issue is that there is a lot of emotion between you and your neighbor simply because of what you have gone through as friends.
Let me ask you to do this.
Number one, the justice system will not get involved. There is no violation that they will pursue.
So, here is an idea, what if every single time she said these mean things to you you simply said "I love you too"
How would she react if you DID NOT REACT, well she would stop.
Do not give away your power by yelling at her. Just say the same thing over and over.. "I love you too"
I promise that there are deeper issues here, but if you do as I say exactly, you, my dear, will no longer be a prisoner in your home.
