Dear Mr. Paisola, I have a friend who is above the age of 18 who needs some advice. He and another person are planning on robbing a store. possibly a 7-11 type store. Guns could be involved. We all live in Maryland. If they are caught, what is the maximum and minimum punishment they can receive. I can hear all of the Prosecutors, Trial Attorneys, Judges, Cops, and Investigators laughing their ass off all over the world.
Your question is one that invokes what we as a society refuse to believe exists, and that there is corruption and coercion in every area of our government, including law enforcement.
I am not sure what you are referring to in your question, but when an officer breaks the law, the issue is reviewed by a part of the department called Internal Affairs. If it is a federal matter, it is handled by the INSPECTOR GENERAL.
There is a reason that these offices are full of cases, just go to Google and type POLICE MISCONDUCT, and see what comes up.
Most of the people in law enforcement are good, honest and ethical people, but like anything there are the bad apples, and those are the ones who get the attention.
