Question
This is both a question and my thoughts on the question as it is a confusing one. I've read bits and pieces on physcopathy as I have an interest in the subject of criminal physcology and many experts say that they have NO emotion but I find that to be a bit silly. Do you think this is possible? I believe that it may be lazy wording on their part as it must be impossible (due to the reason we feel emotions and the way the brain works) for any living being to have absolutly NO emotion. Also do you think it is possible for someone to be physcopathic but (I realise this may sound odd as lack of emotion/empathy is a big part of the disorder) experiance empathy? Is it possible for there to be a new type of malfunction where by a person displays most of the criteria but can feel deeply? (Or that experts have made some mistakes in research being that p's are very private and deceptive) I have read that some experts are now beginning to believe that SOME p's can be OVERLY sensitive children and actually value animals highly (above people) Sorry if this is long but it is a broad and interesting subject.

This is a very broad and deep subject so I will be brief as to my understanding of the topic.  With regard to psychopathy it has been characterized by an abnormal lack of empathy combined with strongly amoral conduct but masked by an ability to appear outwardly normal.  It is not that the psychopath is devoid of emotion, it is that the psychopath can commit heinous crimes devoid of the moral emotional prohibitions that the vast majority of society attach to it.  In other words the crime of murder is universally condemned in nearly every society.  A psychopath does not formulate the moral prohibition toward murder and can execute it with detached emotional intent.  Yet, he or she may cry over the loss of a beloved pet.  There is plenty of material on the subject but I hope that I have been able to help.
