Jesus Himself did many miracles on the Jewish Sabbath, and was in trouble for it! However! Jesus said it wasn't Him doing the works, but His Father who was in Him!  So *God* was working on the Jewish Sabbaths, which would be breaking the Law, but only to those that were under it!

The commandment begins with ''Remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy....'' This clearly shows that there was Sabbath before the Ten Commandments.

How can you go against nine of the commandments (excluding the keeping of the sabbath) and say you are saved by Grace? What is the definition of sin? Paul said everything ends in charity. What is charity? Jesus was teaching the Jews how to keep the sabbath; he never told them not to keep the sabbath. He himself kept the sabbath and as his custom was, worshipped on sabbath days. The jews did not cook, or do any labour on sabbath days. Jesus cured, treshed corn because his desciples were hungry. Teacing them to do good and what is necessary for you to survive on sabbath days hence 'the sabbath was made for man...'

The ten commandments were upheld by Jesus when he summarised them in the golden rule....dities to God and duties to men: Worship God; do no evil to your fellow mam.

All our laws today is still an extention of the Ten commandments.
