Critics of Catholicism/Hell

Question
I am almost positive that the Catholic Church has never actually named a person to Hell.  Could you please verify?

Answer
Hi!

Marie, I have looked at this question every day since you posted it. I have been trying to understand just what you mean. All through history catholicism has named groups and individuals both as heretics. In old times, heretics were burned at the stake for not being catholic. It was determined at the various councils that the only way for anyone to get to Heaven was to be catholic. Once this is stated, the outcome is that those who are not catholic are supposedly going to Hell. In actuality, it is the opposite that is true.

I do not think this is what you meant, but I see this as being what you said. Could you please clarify the question? I will try to give a better answer when I have more details.

Expertise

I consider myself to be a "doctrine specialist" if there is such a thing. I offer scripture to support or refute (as needed) any doctrine practiced within what is commonly termed "Christianity" today. This includes catholicism, which is actually the first denomination, or offshoot of Christianity. Yes, you read that right, there is a church that preexists catholicism. It wasn't founded after, as was protestantism. And, it is still in existence today

Experience

I became a Christian on April 7, 1969. I have been a substitute, spur-of-the-moment preacher for thirty years. My last pulpit was with the congregation in Braswell, GA. My sermons have always contained at least fifty percent scripture. On occasion, I have preached in seven states, and four foreign nations. This is beside my online ministry. I am now, officially retired.

Education/Credentials
Having already acquired significant Bible education from self-study, I attended 1.5 years of Bible college through the church at Dyersburg, TN (before my health waned) in an attempt to get paper to say I know what I know.
