QuestionSorry, I left this out of your last reply: “Three days and three nights” is just a poetic but idiomatic expression in Hebrew for “a day”. So is “evening came and morning followed” from Genesis 1, when there was no sun to make evening or morning. For a more indepth analysis, see:
Genesis 1:3 is quite clear that light and darkness was separated and this was the end of the 1st day. Where do you get your facts? Last issue with the 7th day v. 1st day of worship. From Gen 2: 2-3 throughout the Bible, it is the 7th day that is santified and nothing else. And Christ is Lord of the Sabbath or 7th day. All Apostles kept this day holy. It wasn't until 'other wolves' came into the One True Church - even some from within - that debate began over whether of not to keep the 'tradition of the Jews' or form a new identity to Sunday - the day of the Sun which was Constantine's 1st and perhaps last god of worship. It appears he used Christianity as a tool to unite his empire as have others after him. No, I do not buy your arguments here, particularly you site the same men who led the charge to change this Commandment. Where is your Biblical support for this change. Who adopted it in the Bible - the Son of Man who came to tell us truly about the Kingdom of God and expand the Commandments meaning?? I don't buy it though I can understand how a Philosopher may.

Then it was a famous "wolf" that wrote this, having infiltrated the church very deeply:
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days." (Col 2:16)
Heresy!
;)
ADDENDUM:
The heresy was leveled at St. Paul for excusing the early Christians for being judged for observing the Lords day instead of the Sabbath.
The vacation was because I am ridiculously busy (married, working, 3 kids, grad-student in Philosophy, closing down a dorm, and this is a volunteer (unpaid) position). Check the other post, as I am willing to continue this particular conversation.
