Question
Hi, How can I explain this message to non-catholic Friends and inlaws that the catholic church is the church of God. My wife became Catholic after we married, I was raise Catholic. Now she is attending one of these(what I call Vegas show church) with her parents and sister. She still attends Mass with me weekly, if not there would be more problems.
I feel it is me against them. Any help on this matter would
be great!!! A friend told me just to pray for my Wife. And let here go to this other church.

Answer
Hi Rick.

Be patient in love and prayer.  Take it slow and learn some good protest answers to complaints and questions.  A good start is with the articles in the upper left here: www.catholic.com.  I've also got a few things here: www.catholictruths.com.

Remember too:
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15

Don't try to force things.  Talk alot.  Work on your relationship with your wife. You make your relationship with your wife #1 and God will work through you.

I wonder if there might be a Catholic church in your area that's a bit more charismatic that you two might enjoy attending together.  Check your diocese website or your phone book to see if there is a Newman Center church (yes, it's Catholic) in your area.  In my area they're also listed as St. Thomas More Newman.

...just some thoughts.

Rick.

I can help clarify fact vs. fiction regarding the teachings of the Catholic Faith. I believe that Catholicism is the best representation of the Historic Christian Faith and that this can be shown with Scripture, reason and history.

I am an ecumenical apologist. I'm not interested in telling non-Catholics why they are wrong, but am happy to explain and confirm what we believe and why we; from Scripture, reason and history.

There are some issues where I will have to politely agree to disagree with my non-Catholic brother in Christ, however there is so much that we share in common, I'd prefer to clarify those first. :)

Experience

Experience in the area
As a former Protestant (Church of the Nazarene) I came to the faith by recognizing, after lengthy study, that Catholocism is the best representation of the Historic Christian Faith. Very interested in "ecumenical apologetics", and have started a website pursuing it: www.catholictruths.com
