Question
I'd like to ask you if "the da vinci code" is all true, what's true and what's not. I pray you answer me! TELL ME WHAT IS TRUE IN IT!

Answer
Frederica,

Thank you for your question. I am not sure if I can sufficiently answer your question. You see, I have neither read the book, nor have I seen the movie. Nor do I plan on doing either! I have however, read and heard info about both and will share with you what I know.

1. The book is fiction. I am told that it states this at the beginning. Therefore, fiction is by definition "an un-truth, something that is made up, imagination, fables". So in being fiction whatever is in the book/movie cannot be taken as reality.

2. It denies the Deity of Christ. The DevCode says that Jesus was married (or yet worse, had an adulteress affaire with Mary Magdalene), did not die on the cross, had a child with Mary Magdalene, moved to the south of France, and there died. All of which is not only blasphemous, but completely denies all historical facts and is a lie.

Frederica, I am sure there may be some truth in the DevCode, but just because you mix cool-aid with arsenic does not make it any less poisonous! Head my warning, leave it alone!

1Tim. 1:4
Neither give heed to fables (fictional stories) and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
2Tim. 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Peter 1:16
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

I hope this helped. Please let me know if you have any further questions,
Elder Greg
