Critics of Protestantism/Peter or Paul (or Mary)?

Question
Let me say first that I have really enjoyed reading your answers. Perhaps if others were as level headed and logical as yourself we might not have 50,000 denominations.

Second, let me say I just added Mary to the above for effect. This question doesn't involve her. My question is, how do you rectify or explain the obvious contradictions between Paul and Peter (ie what foods are permitted) and Paul and James (faith verses works)? Seems Peter was more in a position to make such decisions that the late-comer Paul.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Dear Obie,

I don't find that there is any contradiction in those whom you have stated.

I think that sometimes people don't realize that the Jews were still honoring God through rituals and had to exit these things slowly and into the realm of faith about who they had become "in Christ".

Concerning Paul and James they both say the same... Basically it means , to paraphrase, "Words are cheap!".

The works James speaks of are works caused by faith in Christ... namely the changes that happen in an individual's life when true rates in it.

If you seek more details please elaborate on the issue that you are concerned about.

Thank you

God bless
