How would I know if we can or can't speak in togues today?

I speak in tongues as do millions of other believers that are "Baptized in the Spirit". Jesus spoke about it. There are three types mentioned in the scriptures.

Tongues with interpretation ... from god through man to man a gift of the Spirit mentioned in 1 Cor 12.

Speaking in tongues to God direct which no one understands found in 1 Corinthians 14:2 and onwards

Then what is called "Divers kinds of tongues" where you speak in tongues but others hear in their own languages... found in Acts 2

Tongues are a spirit thing not coming from the conscious part of the brain or understanding. Sometimes you understand them but most times not.

The tongues with interpretation not everyone does this but all can speak in tongues as Jesus asked us to be baptized in this power... in other words its available...that is the second variety...but not all speak in tongues with interpretation.
