Could you tell me the best route to take around Croatia for a back-packing holiday. My boyfriend and I are going for 16-days in mid-September, flying in and out of Zagreb. I would like to see as much as possible, especially Plitvice National Park, Dubrovnik and some island-hopping. We will be relying on public transport too, so any information on getting around by bus (eg price, frequency, routes)would be much appreciated, as would any information about places to stay.
Hope you can help!!
Thanks!
Kate
Answer I suggest you to visit http://www.croatia-travel.org/ and find all necessary information about traveling and seeing Croatia.
What would be my suggestion is that you go with airplane from Zagreb to Dubrovnik and from there to island Hvar, from Hvar to island Brač, from Brač to Split, from Split to Plitvice National Park, from there to Rijeka-Opatija, definitely go to Pula which has the most richest history of Roman imperious (biggest amphitheater in the world), and from Pula to Zagreb.
