Croatia/Venice to Rovinj

Question
My wife and I will be in Venice in June 2011, leaving on 15th to stay in Rovinj
for a few days before travelling south. One suggestion was to collect a car from
Rijeka and drive to Rovinj, and then continue on slowly to Dubrovnik. We'd like
to stay occasionally at nice places (where there are not too many tourists). The
ferry timetable has not been made available at the time of writing. What do you
think?
Regards
Graham

Answer
Best is to take a rent-a-car in Rijeka (if you are coming from Venice to Rijeka) or if you want, better is to take a ferry from Venice directly to Rovinj, and then to take a car in Rovinj and drive to Dubrovnik.

On the way, a "must see locations" are: Plitvička jezera (Plitvice lakes), Krka waterfalls, Trogir ...

Please give me more information about your trip plan, how many days you have, accommodation, etc.
