Question
Hi Igor-attending my daughters wedding in Hvar the beginning of June. We are coming from the Us to Venice for a few days tehn onto Hvar. Have checked flights into Split from all places  in Italy and will have lots of  3 large pieces of luggage with us (3 people) The flights are quite expensive . Considering taking a train from Venice to Ancona and then the overnite ferry to Split.Do you think this is the best option? Seems there is only 1 ferry at 20:30 each day.. is this reliable seeing that we must get to Split by June 3??  Can we book this ferry this far in advance? THANk YOu SO Much!!!

Answer
Posibilities are few:

1.Train from Venice to Ancona, ferry Ancona to Split and then ferry Split to Hvar

This option is maybe cheap but you will lose more then 24 hour on traveling, and
you will be broken in half at your daughters wedding. It would be vise to book ferry
Ancona-Split (www.jadrolinija.hr)

2.Bus transfer (or rent-a-car AVIS) from Venice to Rijeka, then from Rijeka to Hvar
(Stari grad) take ferry (see timetable at www.jadrolinija.hr)

3. My suggestion is to take avio-taxi from Venice direct to Hvar, price could be around
1800 EURO for 3 people, and it's in less then 1h. Also possible to be returned in Venice. More info at www.delicair.hr

4.Try to find flights from Venice to Split (low cost)
