Croatia/ferry routes

Question
My family and I want to travel from Venice to the central Dalmatian coast around June 10, 2011. We were keen to take a ferry but I get the impression from websites that this is not an option. Is that true? What is the direct train/bus alternative which does not involve changing? Is this safe? How long will it take?

Answer
You can travel from Venice to Croatia, by bus or ferry. My suggestion is that you take ferry from Venice to Rovinj, Croatia (www.venezialines.com). Rovinj (http://www.tzgrovinj.hr/) is a small city located in north Croatia region Istria. From Rovinj you take a bus to Pula ( www.pula.net )(45min), there you will see largest and most beautiful roman amphitheater (arena) in the world. From Pula you can take ferry to Zadar (mid Dalmatian) or you can go with bus till Rijeka and there take ferry to Split or Dubrovnik (http://www.jadrolinija.hr)

To traveling in Croatia is one of the safest in the world, there are no terrorists or anything like it.
