Question
Hi

My husband child and i are planning a cruising trip in Dubrovnik in August.  We  plan to travel to Venice and then to Dubrovnik.  Is there a direct ferry from Venice to Dubrovnik?  If not what ports do we travel via?  What are the costs? How long will the complete trip Venice to Dubrovnik take?  We then need a tourist class, clean hotel close to the centre of Dubrovnik for 2 nights (?suggestions).  We then plan a cruising 7 night trip from Dubrovnik (?can you suggest a reliable, well priced charter company, for a 32 - 34ft yacht).  You assistance with the Ferrie, hotel in Dubrovnik + charter company would be appreciated.
With thanks

Answer
For the moment there are no direct ferry connections between Venice and Dubrovnik. Possibility is to travel with ferry from Venice to Rovinj (www.venezialines.com). Rovinj is beutifull old city in Istria-Croatia. From Rovinj you take bus to Rijeka (1 hour drive) and from Rijeka you have ferry to Dubrovnik (www.jadrolinija.hr). This is the best travel solution. Also is possible to take air-taxi but it's not cheap solution (www.delicair.hr).

Regarding chartering yacht in Dubrovnik, I can arrange for you direct booking to charter company with 10% discount (avoiding agency, and extra commissions). Available sailing yacht from 32 to 53 feet, full equipped. If you are interested please contact me at email igor(at)pula.net
