Question
My grandparents were both Croatian Catholics from Starcevo.  They each came to the US in early 1900's. I believe this village is in Serbia, although I don't know about when they were born. (1894)  I have tried to get info from the Catholic church and also an archive there, but to no avail.  My grandfather, John Pihajlic(h) was the son of Jacob.  His mother died when he was about 7. He had an older brother, Stefan (1890). Jacob remarried, Rosa ___.  They had a daughter, Mary. (1905)   My grandmother, Rose Poljak was the daughter of Gyorgy and Annie (Bolina?) She had a sister Agnes (1889), a younger brother, Tennis and 2 or 3 other sisters. I don't know how to find additional info about my family.

Answer
Village Starčevo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star%C4%8Devo)is located in Serbia as you said. Cause turbulent times in that region during first and second WWW I don't believe there is a archive in any institution (church or local administration) of your family, only possibility is to visit the city local graveyard to find clues or/and talk to old people in the village.
