Greetings from Australia again!!
The planning for our trip continues. I have made inquiries from major car hire companies and the rates quoted are very high. I have been told that hiring from within Croatia may not be as expensive.
Could I have your comments and suggestions as to how we should procede.
Also any suggestions on finding accommodation for our group of 12 persons, other than hotels. We are going to base our travels from Split and Dubrovnik.

Ren-a-car rates withinh Croatia range from 60 EUR for smaller cars to 100 EUR for larger models, those prices are per day, without gasoline.
For a larger party such as your I would recommend hiring one or several small vans.

Regarding accommodation, youu have quite large offer of private accommodation available. For larger groups and especially in September you can negotiate an excellent bargain.
Try contacting the owner of Vila Arija in Brela at www.brelaoline.com and let him know I refered you too him. For 12 people he will offer you a good deal himself.
