Croatia - Flights to Croatia

Question
Dear Mila,

I will go to Croatia in the Summer of 1992.  I am looking for good information on flights.  I live near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  I have heard, but not seen, that there are flights from the US eastern coast via Swiis or German Air that are much cheaper.  Could you suggest some economical and reliable Airlines to Croatia and back?
Hvala

Answer
Hello Debby!

Thanks for taking time to write me your question. I am very glad that I can help because I go to Croatia every summer and so I am familiar with the airlines.

Normally, we just go with Lufthansa. We can normally get a direct flight to Frankfurt (with Lufthansa Airlines) and then to go to a city in Croatia, we use Croatia Airlines. This is the most reliable airline and the only one that my family has ever used. Prices for one person economy class during the summer is anywhere from $1600-$2000. It varies every year. This year it costs $1975. A tip to keep in mind is that the earlier you buy your plane ticket, the better chances you have of getting a cheaper ticket. Prices also vary on how many flights you have to take to get to your destination and when you buy tickets late, then the direct flights are usually full.
Using different airlines like Swiss or German Air could cost you a little less--but I am not sure of this. The best thing would be to go to a search engine and search for Swiss or German Air's website. Then look up for that information.

I hope I helped you out!! If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask :)

~Mila~
