Question I am planning a trip to Croatia and I would like to make a trip out to the Pilgrimage of Medugorje. I will be arriving at Split airport at around 16:00 on July 24th. I am having an extremely hard time finding out how I can get the timetables of some buses and/or trains that would be able to get me there and back for a Morning flight on July 27th out of Split Airport. I would also like to know if there are an suggestions on where I should stay and whether or not I should have a guide take me up the mountian or not. I am laving for Ireland on Monday so i would need to know soon. Thanks.
Answer Only bus service is available for Madugorje, there are several lines available daily for details on schedules see www.ak-split.hr
From the airport a regular shuttle service will take you to the centre of Split, with a main bus terminal only about 200m away. Acommodation in both Split and Medugorje sholdn't be a problem, you will find a lot of people waiting for the buses and shouthing "sobe" (rooms) howeve the quality is risky. Personally I woul suggest hotels or private pensions.
