About Marla
Expertise
I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience
I have been a crocheter for almost 30 years.

Question
I want to make a large one piec doily as  a atable runner. do you have any simple patterns. i do not do filet
thanks,
roberta

Answer
Hi Roberta!
Thanks for asking.  I do have table runner patterns, but many of them are filet. I am not sure how to send a picture anyway, or  where I can get a scanner to use.  Did you want a fancy runner, like with flowers, or a simple one?   I did a google search with  crochet   “table runner”   pattern and found some interesting websites. I did find some patterns that were not filet. One website I found was crochepatterncentral.com. when you get to that website go to “Free Crochet Pattern Directory then to Table Runners. They have a lot of them, and you may find one you like. Another site is crochetnmore.com and click on “kitchen” and  scroll down. This one is a simple one. Another idea perhaps if you find a tablecloth that you crochet a lot of motifs, like mini doilies, and then follow the directions to crochet them together. You can decide on how wide or long it can be. Another website which is new to me is softmemories.com. then click on “Free Patterns” located at the top. Then you will see the “lacet Runner” and click on this.  Hope this will be enough to get you started in you look. Let me know if you need some different patterns.
