Question
I have a simple, single crochet, duck afghan where the ducks are yellow on a purple-square background.  The pattern is worked per row, changing colors, on the row, as needed with bobbins.  The pattern does not offer pictures or instructions on how to change colors, using bobbins.  I don't understand how to work with bobbins.

Answer
Barbara:

Bobbins are use to hold the yarn / thread, so there is not a lot of big ball / skeins of material flopping around. It will normally tell you how much to wind. You can almost use anything to wind the yarn in to hold it.

Here are a few link that will help to understand how to change colors
