Question
I have a pettern that is telling me to Miss next ch-1 sp I don't know what this means. I have looked online and so far I cant find the answer. Please help!

Answer
Hi Kayla!
Thanks for asking! Usually instructions say “skip” instead of “miss”. I would interpret “miss” as meaning “skip”. On the crocheted round or row below what you are on, there is a ch space, so you skip that space, and then do what the next instructions say to do. What I have found over the years is that different instructions can mean the same thing, but say it differently, so I have decided to never take one set of instructions as a rule of thumb for crocheting. I hope this helps! Good luck with your project, and feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Expertise

I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in the afghan stitch, or hairpin lace. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Nearly all of my crochet magazines, leaflests, etc are over 5 years old. Many are from the 80's and before. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience

I have been a crocheter for over 30 years.
