Question
I am reading a pattern that says " ch 2, yo, draw lp in same st, yo, draw through 2 lps, yo, sk 2 sts, draw lp in next st, yo, draw through 2 lp, yo, draw through all three lps on hook;"   My question is what is lp and how do I do it?

Answer
The abbreviation lp stands for loop.  So the instructions for the stitch read:
"chain 2, yarn over, insert hook in same stitch and draw up a loop, draw through 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, skip the next 2 stitches, insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on your hook, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on your hook."

Another way to say "draw up a loop" would be "yarn over and pull through the stitch but not through any loops on your hook".

This stitch is a half-double decrease.
