Question
I want to crochet this pattern using a very very large crochet hook. Can I do this without changing the gauge?I'm trying to crochet a very, very, large diamond for a tumbling block. The pattern I have is too small.   Thank You.

Answer
Hello Alice:

If you are looking to enlarge the piece, then yes, you can use any size hook you like. The gauge is if you want to create the piece exactly like the pattern given. This is definitely important for garments, but for other pieces if you don't care for it to be that size, it will make no difference.

Hope this helped.
