Question
QUESTION: The question is on Rd. 3 of my pattern.
Round 2: Ch3, work fpdc around post of ch3 of rnd below,
*dc in and work fpdc around next dc (increase made).
Repeat from*around, end ss to top of ch3: 24 sts, 12 dc and 12 fpdc ( Note: I have no problem with this instruction) but the problem is Round 3
Round 3: Ch3, dc in and work fpdc around post of next dc,*{dc in next dc}, dc in and work fpdc around post of next dc. Reapeat from *around end ss to top of ch3: 36sts.
Note: I got the amount of stitches right but I can't see the spiral pattern.

ANSWER: Hey, Jo!  After reading the pattern about 3 times, I finally got it!
In Rnd 2, you were creating increases.  In the next row (3) in brackets is (dc in next dc) just after the fpdc. I think this row is setting up the foundation for the 'twist'. It seems to me, that since everything else is as it should be (stitch count ect) that you should continue on to the next round and see if the twist begins.

If not, let me know, and we'll figure it out!

QUESTION: Hi Bea,

Thanks for the help.
Now on Rd. 5 that is the problem.

Rd 4: Ch3, dc in nex dc, dc in and work fpdc around post of next dc,*dc in ecah of next 2 dc, d in and work fpdc around post of next dc.  Repeat from|* around, end ss to top of ch3: 48sts  (no problem with that)

Here is my frustration on Rd 5:

Rd 5-10: Repeat rnd 3, increasing one stitch between fpdc each row (see {} of round 3 until there are 9 sts between each post.  To make cap larger add more rounds from here.

What is increaasing one stitch between fpdc each row means of round 3.  How do 9 sts added between each post.

Thanks again for your wonderful help

Jo

Answer
Hi, Again! OK, on row three you have a fpdc,(dc in next dc)and then another fpdc. This is where you will add one dc, between each set of fpdc's all the way across. You will do this same row 6 times, adding another dc between the fpdc's. When you finish the 10th row, you should have 9 dc's between each set of fpdc's.  I hope I explained this well enough!

Best,  Bea
