Crochet/What does it mean when you have ch-2 sp

Question
I'm doing an afghan where it reads:  ch-1 sp and each dc across to next corner ch-2 sp, 3 sc in corner ch-2 sp, * sc in next dc and in each dc and each ch-1 sp across to next corner ch-2 sp, 3 sc in corner ch-2 sp; repeat from * 2 times more.  I don't understand when their is a ch-2 sp means.  I read in some book that it is counted as regular sp.  Can you please explain this to me.  I have seen it as (ch 2 sp which would mean to ch two and than sp)but, (ch-2 sp I don't understand and why do they put a dash between ch & 2.  Thanks for anything you can do.

Answer
Hey, Lydia! When the pattern calls for a ch 2 sp, it just means to ch 2, which will create a space, a ch 2 space. so, all you need to do, is ch 2, then put 3 sc in the next ch 2 (corner) space, then repeat from * to * 2 more times. The dash between the ch and the 2 doesn't mean anything, it's just a seperator!
