Question
QUESTION: i am trying to crochet flip flops and the directions say
twist(do not know what they mean)ch 15 loop(how do u loop),
ch4,tr in top of last sc  please help i am going nuts.  the directions are from the annie potter book please help. thanks cynthia

ANSWER: Cynthia

you are making a ch 15 loop and twisting it. I will assume this is the piece that goes over the toes. I think there is more after ch 15, it may be attached to something because the next line you provided is a ch 4, and tr on last sc.

Hope this helps, if not, please provide me the whole like of the instructions on where you are stuck.

Thanks and have a great day

QUESTION: i am still unsure the directions for row 2 say as follows
ch40 join with sc in last loop where fastened off (ch4 tr in top of las sc)twice.  *twist loop and sc in top loop,ch4,tr in top of last sc* repeat between *this is not the part that goes in center the flip flops have circular chain stiches all around the top and the bottom has sort of a shell which is connected to the circular interlocking loops.  i do not know what they mean bu twist and loop help again thanks cynthia

Answer
Cynthia:

ok you will do a chain 40, this will be joined where you fasted off. Then you will do a ch4 and a TR in top of the last SC, then you will do a ch4 and a TR on the same SC. before the twist loop there must be some chains ( from previous it was 15, you will twist that chain to create a loop)this will get joined in the loop to follows with a ch 4 and a TR on top of the last SC, You would repeat the CH 15 ( I believe that is the chain amount you will need to make) twist it, and joins as before. Close to the SC you should have 2 ch 4 loops, that is where these get joined to.

loops mean that when you make a certain number of chains and join them, you then created a loop (actually a half circle)

Twist is just taking the chain you made and twist it, so it has a corkscrew loop, they don't want the chain to be straight but rather have a shape to it.

Hope this is clear.

Please let me know.

Thanks and happy hooking
