Question
I'm working on a lovely pattern but I'm stuck...

How do I go about making sense of the following stitches:

(Sc, ch2, sc) in next ch-3 sp.

Does that mean sc and ch2 in each of the ch-3's?? It just doesn't seem to coordinate with the next row which says:

(Dc, ch 3, dc) in next ch-2 sp.

Answer
Hey, Gabi!  Your instructions are saying to sc, ch 2, &sc all in the next ch 3 sp. If it says repeat across, or repeat from *, then yes you repeat in each ch 3 space. In the next row, you'll dc ch 3 and dc in the ch 2 space you just made on on the previous row.

Hope this is of help to you!

I consider myself an expert in the field of hand crochet. I have been crocheting for 45 years. I can answer most question on the differnt stitches, as well as the methods used to create speciality items. The art of crochet, after 2 decades of being out of fashion, is enjoying a modest come back. I want to help those newcomers looking for a little/lot of help to get started. Once they are comfortable with the process, they can relax & begin to create the heirlooms of tomorrow.
