About Marla
Expertise
I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience
I have been a crocheter for almost 30 years.

Question
I have a piece of fleece and would like to make a baby blanket and put a pretty shell like edging - can you help
me with a pattern or tell me where to find one and what to punch the hold in the fleece with - thank you

Answer
Hi Mary Jane!
Thanks for asking. I am sorry for taking so long. I have been looking through my books and on the internet. This is similar to crocheted edgings on hankies, but on a larger scale. I did a google search using this search: “crocheted edging” AND fabric. I got the website: crochet.about.com. It has some patterns that may be of use to you. Finally I did another google search using “crocheted edge” AND flannel AND pattern and got a website (this is what came up in the address:
http://sewchic.blogspot.com/2007/07/crocheted-edge-blanket-tutorial.html. The border probably isn’t what you want, but it will get you started, and gives you pointers on what to do about crocheting around the flannel. You are probably a better sewer than I am, so I can't give you decent advice on sewing part.  There are also other websites using the words I used. I hope you can find one that is worthwhile. I do have a lot of shell patterns. Let me know if you still need a pattern, and I will try to find one for you. I don’t know yet how to send a picture, or how to get to a scanner, but I will send you some patterns. Good luck with your blanket! You will make a little baby very happy!
