Question
Hi! Ed!
I am stuck. My pattern states each row is finished off as it is completed. Work all rows with the right side facing. I get that part.

Ch 245 using MC.
ROW 1:(right side)Working in back loops, dc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as first dc, now and throughout pattern),dc in each ch across. Fasten off.

ROW 2: Join CC(color)in top of beg ch-3, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each dc across.  Fasten off.

The pattern repeats itself but using clusters and decreases.

I do not get how I would go into the "top of beg ch 3" after I finish ROW 1. There is all that ch I made. Then what does it mean in ROW 2 to sc in "same st?"

This afghan is for a good friend of mine which I would like to get done before Christmas.

Thank You,
Debbie

Answer
Debbie:

When you start the row, you begin with a chain 3. When the pattern states to "join on to of beg ch-3" you would do it at that row's beginning chain three.

When it states ch1, then sc in same stitch - you will do the chain 1, then do a sc on that same stitch - so if the row ended with a dc, the you would do a ch1, and a sc on that last DC.

I do hope this makes sense. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Happy hooking.
