Crochet/beginning triple crochet cluster

Question
I have a pattern for a pinwheel afghan. The pattern stiches call for:
Beg tr-cl: Ch4,[Yo twice, insert hook in st indicated,yo and pull up lp,(yo and pull through 2 lps)twice]twice,yo and pull through all 4 lps on hook.

Tr-cl: [Yo twice, insert hook in st indicated, yo and pull up lp, (yo and pull through 2 lps)twice]3 times, yo and pull through all 4 lps on hook

If normally the first ch 4 counts as a triple crochet stitch, then how do you end up with 4 lps on the hook when doing the Beg tr-cl?

Answer
vicky:

When you do the beginning one, the loop will stay on the needle. When you continue with the stitches, you are building the remaining loops to equal 4.

Hope this helps. Should you need any assistance, please let me know

Happy hooking.
