AboutMarla Expertise I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Question what does this mean? (ch 2, shell in next shell)2 times. I am in the process of making a doily and I think I am misinterpreting the instructions. It is written in parenthesis.

Thanks for asking. Doilies are my favorite things to crochet. Now, what this means is you ch 2, then shell in the next shell. Then you do this again, you ch 2, then shell in next shell. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else. Good luck with your doily!
