About Marla
Expertise
I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience
I have been a crocheter for almost 30 years.

Crochet - tr - working behind the stitch

Question
the pattern calls for ...miss the next 3 stitches, 1 tr in the next st. Working behind the tr just made, 1 dc in first missed stitch, 1dc in each of next 2 missed stitches.
I found directions for the tr but I cannot find information as to how to work behind the tr and complete the next 3 stitches.  Any help would be appreciated

Answer
Hi Ronnie! Thanks for asking. Yes, sometimes the authors of these patterns think we are mind readers and know exactly what they mean. This is what I think it means. What you want to do is sort of fold that trc toward you and down so that the missed stitches are exposed. Then you dc in each of the missed stitches. Since the trc is folded toward you while you are crocheting, you are crocheting behind it. I hope this makes sense. Now, it may seem a little awkward at first, but you will do just fine. Hopefully the author included a picture. Compare yours to see if it looks the same. What is the name of the book you got it from? Sometimes I have the pattern in question. I hope I helped you. Good luck! Let me know if you need anymore help!
