Question
Made a crochet baby shawl which was round the material was wool not cotton some 30 years ago and have lost the pattern, can't find one in any shops here, have asked friends but they have made one.  Am desperate to get a pattern - Can you please refer me somewhere.  Many thanks, Carolyn   PS  am in South Australia !!

Answer
Hi Carolyn,
I looked through all my patterns and I don't have a round baby blanket either.  I will search online and if I find something, I will forward it to you.

I don't know what the design was, but perhaps you could take a regular round doily pattern that usually uses small thread.  Just use your wool yarn.  Take into consideration the finished size they're giving you using the thread.  Make a swatch using your yarn and you should get a pretty good idea of what the enlarged size will be.

Let me know if you need any help with this.   In the meantime I will search for a round baby afghan.

Traditional Crochet and Filet Crochet (not clothes) I do more thread crochet than yarn.

Experience

I have been crocheting for over 50 years. As a child growing up in New Orleans, LA, I had aunts and older cousins who taught me, but now they are all gone and sadly, there is no one who crochets in my area. I hope to be able to meet fellow crocheters through this website, and I'd be delighted if I could help someone answer a question. I'm sure I'll be asking my share, also. I specifically enjoy doilies and afghans. I really like designing filet crochet. I don't make clothes, other than hats and scarves.

Education/Credentials
I learned as a child in the 50's from aunts and older cousins.
