Crochet/snowflake garland confusion

Question
I'm really determined to make this garland for my christmas tree, but I'm having a brain fart reading the pattern. I would greatly appreciate the help, the pattern is as follows:    Rnd 1: Ch.1 [2sc in ring, ch 3] 6 times, join w/ a sl st in first sc-6 ch-3 loops
Rnd 2: Sl st in next sc, ch 1 [(2sc, ch 3, 2 sc) all in ch-3 loop] 6 times, join.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next sc, ch1 [(2sc, ch 3, 2 sc, ch 5, ch 3, sc) all in ch-3 loop, ch 2] 6 times, join. Fasten off.  What I'm having trouble w/ is the ch-3 loop part. How do I it in the first place and then how do I crochet "all in ch-3 loop"? A step by step description or a tutorial would be great! And thank you in advance. =)

Alice:

Thanks for the question, sorry for the delay in the reply.

The 3 loops are created in rnd 1. When you do the 2sc in the ring, and ch 3, that creates the loops that you are referring to. So you should have a total of 6 ch-3 loops.

When it refers to "in the ch-3 loop part" you are doing the(2sc, ch 3, 2 sc, ch 5, ch 3, sc) in the loop (so you would place the hook into the loop, pick up the yarn, and complete the sc, do a chain 3... etc)

The ch-3 loops is where all the stitches will be going, always inserting the hook in the loop, and complete the instructions as stated.

Do hope this help. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.

Happy Hooking
