Question
I am working on a pattern out of a book titled Crochet Made Easy, by Red Heart Yarns. I am making the pattern called market bag. I am stumped on the following directions.

It reads as follows -
Slip st in next 2 dc and in next 2 chs of next ch-5, sc in same ch-5 space; --- I can understand the rest of it, just not this part.

The reason I am stumped is because the previous row has 5 dc in one sc (a fan-like), then you do 5 chains off the 3rd dc. (this is the previous row). So I'm confused about doing 2dc in next two chains, then in the ch-5 space? I'm confused.

Answer
Michelle:

Thanks for the question.

The instructions state: slip stitch in the next 2 dc and in the next 2-chains of the chain 5 loop. NOT that you will do 2dc on the ch-5 loop. What this is doing is placing you in the center of the chain 5 loop.

Hope this helped. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
