I working a freebie purse pattern I found on the Kreilnik website at http://www.kreinik.com/kshop/product.php?productid=137%26cat=33%26page=3  It's called the Topaz Purse.  I have gotten to row 13 in which it says:

ROW 13: (Ch 3, 2 dc in next shell, ch 4, 1 sc in 1st ch of ch-4 ch, [1 picot made] 4 times in same shell, 2 dc in same shell, [1 large picot shell made] ch 3, insert hk under both ch lps of last 2 rounds and work 1 sc) 18 times, 2 sc in next lp, 1 sc in ea sc, 2 sc in last lp. (43 sc + 18 lge picot shells).

I understand what it's saying to do up through the "1 large picot shell made" and the ch3.  I'm stumped when it says to "insert hk under both ch lps of last 2 rounds and work 1 sc."  I do understand that all of this in the () is being worked in one loop.  Can you clarify what this is asking me to do??

Hi Becky,
Please bear with me.  I'm crocheting your pattern so I can get to the part where you are having problems.  I worked late last night so I didn't get to do as much as I wanted.  
I will try to do that tonight and get back with you tomorrow.  It's a beautiful little bag, isn't it? Pretty enough for framing, or you using it for an evening bag?

Hi Becky,
I crocheted your pattern and I can see why you were stumped.  To get this far, however, you're pretty good!  

Remember in Row 11, you made "ch 4" loops.  In row 12, "ch 5" loops in between the shells?
In row 13, the instruction "insert hk under both ch lps of last 2 rounds and work 1 sc" mean to make a single crochet around those two loops.  You're grabbing them together and crocheting over both loops from rows 11 and 12.

When you're finished Row 13, you'll have those 18 large picot shells with a "ch 3, sc, ch 3" between them.  Then, of course, you'll have those 43 single crochets at the top of the bag.

If you're still not clear on this, let me know and I can take a closeup digital picture of my work and send it to you.
