Question
QUESTION: I don't have a clue how to do this pattern, it reads as follows
row 1: ch21, shell in 2nd ch from hook, (skip each of next 2 ch, shell in next ch) across with sc in last ch, turn. (7 shells)

I understand the chain and sk 2, but the shell stitch, I don't follow, they come out to close together, I'm doing something wrong with the shell stitch. Im so confused, no matter what I do
it comes out wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Tammy

ANSWER: Tammy:

Thanks for the question.

Shells, are closed together, so that is normal. Now the pattern for the shell will be in the pattern instruction, probably right at the beginning, just follow it and as it progressed, you will see it will be fine.

Remember that the row one is the foundation, and yes they may seem tight together, but the rest of the rows will take care of that.

Hope that helped. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: there is nothing that tells me how many DC to do, it just says shell, I did 5dc but the next row says to start the other shell in the sc, but there are none, that is why it is confusing to me. row 2 says ch1, shell in the first sc, (skip each of next 2dc, shell in next sc) 6 times, skip each of the next 2dc, sc in next sc, turn.

I don't know where to do the sc, all I am doing are shells across the first row, where do the sc come in, the pattern says nothing about how to do the shell. I shouldn't have purchased this pattern. Im really frustrated.

Answer
Tammy:

Where did you get the pattern? can you scan it and provide it, so I can read it and make sense of all this. I can now see what the frustrations are, but its can be solved.

Not all patterns are the same... some are clear, and some... well you can see. I want you to get this pattern, just need to read it so I can make sense of it all.

Hope to hear from you soon.

PS

I will suggest to open another request, since this question is public, I would not want someone to take the pattern since you paid for it. if not, I will provide my e-mail and we can communicate that way
