QUESTION: I love this patern but I am unable to understand the meaning of the first few rows!. I do not understand the terminology corners" & am confused:
With A, Fsc 183 (189, 195, 201, 207, 213) to measure approx 61 (63, 65, 67, 69, 71)"/155 (160, 165, 170, 175.5, 180.5)cm, change to B.

Row 1: With B, ch 1, sc in first sc, [ch 1, skip next Fsc, sc in next Fsc] across, turn; change to C—92 (95, 98, 101, 104, 107) sc.
My understanding of this resulted in FSC of 183 stitches followed by 19 rows of 92 stiches , row 21 appears to be much more stitches !!!
Rows 2–20: With new color, [ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] across, end with ch 1, sc in last sc, turn; change to next color in Color Sequence.
Note: Shoulders are now "grown" by making two corner increases equally spaced from center of back neck. Mark the ch-1 space at center of each corner, move markers up as work progresses.

Row 21: With new color, [ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 42 (43, 44, 45, 46, 47) times, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-1 space (corner made), place marker in last ch-1 made, [ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) times, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-1 space (corner made), place marker in last ch-1 made, [ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 42 (43, 44, 45, 46, 47) times, end with ch 1, sc in last sc, turn; change to next color in Color Sequence—94 (97, 100, 103, 106, 109) sc.

If you could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate this. My understanding of "across" means to the end of the row, I have never heard of "corners" in a pattern before.
Thanks in anticipation.

ANSWER: Sarah:

Thanks for the question.

In this pattern they are using the word "corner" to establish a reference point, in this case a corner. This will later be use to attach, and / or use as a reference point when you are putting the piece together.

You are correct about "across", corners is just being used as a reference. Make sure to place markers, as stated in the pattern, because when you join the items together, those will be your reference points, as stated in the pattern.

You will see, as you are making the piece, and its time to join it all together, it will all come together.

Should you have any questions or need assistance, please let me know.

QUESTION: Sorry, I am confused again.
Row 21: With new color, [ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 42 (43, 44, 45, 46, 47) times, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-1 space (corner made), place marker in last ch-1 made,
[ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) times, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-1 space (corner made), place marker in last ch-1 made, this second marker is the end of the row !!. How do I do the following before the turn ??
[ch 1, sc in next ch-1 space] 42 (43, 44, 45, 46, 47) times, end with ch 1, sc in last sc, turn; change to next color in Color Sequence—94 (97, 100, 103, 106, 109) sc.
Rows 22–44 (46, 48, 50, 52, 54) (pattern increase): With new color, *[ch 1,
sc in

Answer
Sarah:

I am sorry Sarah, but I am not sure what you are asking here. The comment is "how do I do the following before the turn?" what part of the instructions is giving you the confusion? is it the placement of the markers? if so, it needs something (i use safety pins, I have silver and gold colors ones) as markers. so the first marker will be placed in the ch-1 space, and the second one will be in the ch-1 representing the end of the row. If I am going by what you wrote, the pattern continues, the only thing the pattern is stating is that the marker represents end of the row. This information will match later on, when you are using those points as references. I can see where this pattern is confusing, since the directions give more details that may be needed.

If that is not what the question was, please let me know. I am here to help.

Happy hooking
