Crochet/puff stitch

Question
Hello

I am crocheting a baby afghan and would like to use the puff stitch in one row and another stitch in the other...which stitch would work best?
Thank you

Sheri:

Thanks for the question.

This will all depend on how you want your afghan to look. Some afghan have the puff stitch to give an element of texture, kind of like a border in a quilt.

You can alternate dc in one row, and puffs in another, this will create flat strips with puff strips. You can do a few rows of dc, then one row of puffs, this will space the puff out more on the afghan.

When I use the puff stitch is more to frame a simple piece. I have done one where I did 4 rows of dc, in a granny square concept, and one row of puff.

I hope I was able to answer your question. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
