Question
QUESTION: Hi on 12/12/07 Michelle asked you a question.I am having the same trouble as she did. Can you further explain the directions, perhaps a different way for me. Thank you. Susan When you say do the sc on the row that you last made isn't it a stitch that used to be a turning stitch? Also It said chain 3 and sc in 3rd chain.  Do you do a sc in the 3rd turning chain and chain 3 again?

ANSWER: Susan:

Thanks for the question.

Does the row says "Ch 1, sc in each dc and in 3rd ch of turning, ch-3, turn?

If so, you will do a sc on each dc. When you get to the end of that row, the previous stitch is a chain 3. At the top of this chain 3, you will do another sc (this is the "in 3rd ch of turning"), then you will do a ch-3 and turn to place you in the direction to work on the stitches you have just created.

I know what is confusing is that you are seeing ch3 being used twice. But one is stating that you are doing the stitch on top of the previous ch3, and then doing a ch3 and turn, to place you in the right place for the next row.

I do hope this answered your question. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

QUESTION: Thank you so much for making it clear. My thoughts are, wouldn't u do that stitch anyway, without being told? Again thank you andI so appreciate you answering me so promptly. You are a good guy. Have a great weekend,  If I have anymore trouble deciphering these directions, would you mind if I asked you for help? Susan

Answer
You are most welcome Susan.

Yes I am with you on that one. But it all depends on who writes the pattern. Some people need the instructions completely spelled out.

Yes ask for my assistance any time.

Glad I was able to help you.
