QuestionQUESTION: Hi Patricia, Have you received the instructions for my coat? My husband faxed it to you around 10 this morning. Thank you again. Susan
ANSWER: Hi Susan,
Yes, I did. I am leaving on a business trip this evening, returning Saturday, but since I always bring crochet with me, I will try to figure yours out. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
I must tell you, though, structured clothing is not my expertise, but I will try my best to help you.

Hi Susan,
I worked your pattern through Row 3. I think your problem is that you are not counting the repeats correctly. On Row 3, you have the first 6 doubles and FPtrc, then there's the repeat between the *..*. Now it tells you to repeat 12 times, so that's a total of 14 repeats. Your row should have 14 FPtrc, then aftr that 14th one, crochet 7 doubles into the stitches on the previous row. That's why they only say to "dc in the next 7". You should not have any stitches left on that row. You ch 1, then start Row 4.
Try this and let me know if that solves the problem. If not, we'll figure it out.

QUESTION: I am as confused as you are Patricia. I again thank you for all your help and for being so kind. I am from New Jersey. just curious where do you hail from? Be happy, Susan
AnswerHi Susan,
I'm in Prairieville LA, betweeen New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I was born and raised in New Orleans.
I've been to New Jersey once - 1989. I was amazed how much the people there spoke like native New Orleanian - that same heavy brogue. I've never been able to figure it out.
