Question
The pattern reads - hdc in next dc (skip next dc, dc in next dc) 5 times, skip next dc next dc, skip next hdc, hdc in top of ch 2. Ch 1 and turn.  Please explain this for me, I am having a real problem trying to understand what the - skip next dc next dc - means.  Please help, thank you

Brenda:

Thanks for the question.

The row before must all be dc. So for this row, you will: do a hdc in the next dc, then you will skip the next double crochet(from the previous row) and do a double crochet on the one after the skip, this is repeated 5 times. Then after that you will skip the next double crochet and the next half double crochet and do a half double crochet on the top of the chain 2.

After doing the repeat, you should only have a dc, a hdc and the ch 2. correct? I think there is a typo since you wrote "skip next dc next dc..."

Hope that helped. If you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
