Question
I am making a baby blanket for my first grandchild.  I have not done such an intricate blanket before and am a bit confused by a pattern.  In short, it says to ({dc, ch 1} 5 times, dc) in next ch-3 sp.  What does the latter part mean ... in next ch-3 sp?

Thank you very much for your expertise!

Answer
Katrina:

Thanks for the question.

The pattern states, you will do the dc, ch 1  on the first parenthesis five times, then after that you will do a dc. All those steps will be done in the chain 3 space. Remember that when you see the parenthesis, you will do the inside ones first, then the outer (like in math)

So in the previous row, you should have created some chain 3 spaces, that these set of stitches are going to go on.

I do hope that I was able to help. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy hooking
