Question
I am at the end of the afghan and I can't remember how to do the pattern. So, I'm doing a sample of it so I can finish the afghan, but now I can't understand the pattern. I did have someone show how to do it the first time around.
The title of afghan is 'Lacy Chevron' by Sr. Mary F. Strecker CSJ; Manhattan, KS
INSTRUCTIONS;
ROW 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, ch2, skip next 3chs, 2dc in next ch, ch2, skip next 2chs, *^ (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch (Shell made), ch2, skip next 3chs, 2dc in next ch, ch2, skip next 3ch^, 2dc in next ch, skip next 2ch, (2dc in next ch, ch 2, skip next 3chs)twice; repeat from * 13 times more, then repeat from ^ to ^ once, dc in last 2chs: 15 Shells
I get stuck at the beginning of it.
Thank you
Linda

Answer
Hey, Linda! I am assuming that your instructions asked you to chain a certain number of stitches, then row one begins. So, where your needle is, when you finish that chain, will count as the first stitch, and then count down 2 more stitches from your hook, that's your 3rd ch from your hook. Dc in that stitch, ch 2, skip the next 3 stitches,2 dc in next stitch,ch 2, skip the next 2 stitches * ^(2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in the next stitch. First shell made.

I hope this helps. Just remember when you do your first long chain, that stitch and chain mean the same thing.

Good luck on your project!
